FutureLink Nashville: Industry Education and Immersion into the DSCSA Saleable Returns Requirement Through Educational Sessions and a VRS Accelerator Workshop

By November 2019, wholesale distributors will be required to verify the serialized product identifiers for any saleable products that have been returned before they can be restocked and resold. This creates challenges for both wholesale distributors and manufacturers, requiring wholesale distributors to have fast, secure access to manufacturers’ product data in order to minimize operational impact and ensure that saleable products are returned into the supply chain as quickly as possible.

At FutureLink, there will be several educational sessions on the DSCSA saleable returns requirement, including a focus on the opportunity for master data sharing and perspectives from wholesale distributors and manufacturers on their current preparation status. On Day 2 at FutureLink, the VRS Accelerator Workshop will provide TraceLink customers with hands-on training for TraceLink’s verification router service and help them build a blueprint to successfully implement and deploy their own VRS projects.

October 3 - Educational Sessions

The DSCSA saleable returns verification requirement appears to be straightforward.  However, there are critical requirements that if not understood, can lead to failed verifications, delayed responses, and ultimately, products not making it to patients. The sessions at FutureLink will provide deep-dive education on the saleable returns requirement, insights from pharmaceutical companies and wholesale distributors, and how VRS can be used beyond DSCSA.
