How to Prepare for Office of the Inspector General Reviews
Now that DSCSA lot-level compliance has been in effect since the middle of 2015, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG)—the largest group of its kind in the U.S. Federal Government—is randomly contacting pharmaceutical supply chain companies to review their DSCSA experiences. The OIG has recently reached out to health system dispensers, including multiple TraceLink customers.
Based on our experience helping health systems prepare for their review with the OIG, we've developed an FAQ about the requests, in the event that your health system, hospital, clinic, or pharmacy is contacted by the OIG. Take a look to understand what's being asked, and what type of documentation is being requested.
