### Overview

The EPCIS 1.2 – SOM Receipt transaction is an XML-based message used to communicate confirmation of the receipt of products transferred between warehouses and the receipt of serialized pharmaceutical products. This transaction complies with GS1 EPCIS 1.2 standards and allows logistics providers to inform suppliers that the stock transfer shipment has been successfully delivered to the destination warehouse, supporting and business and track and trace compliance requirements.

With TraceLink’s OPUS Platform and B2N Integrate-Once™, the SOM Receipt transaction enables secure, standards-based updates to EPCIS 1.2-compliant serialization records, ensuring that all trading partners and systems reference the most current and accurate product inventory information.

### Key Use Cases

- Confirm the transfer and receipt of serialized pharmaceutical products by a trading partner and across logistical locations in the supply chain.
- Highlight if the transfer shipment experienced any breakage, and if there were any discrepancies between the expected product and quantities and the received product and quantities.
- Enable traceability and verification of serialized units at the point of receipt.
- Help automate and trigger downstream product inventory and material handling processes.

### Data Elements Included

An EPCIS 1.2 – SOM Receipt transaction includes:

- **Event Type:** ObjectEvent representing the receipt of serialized items.
- **EPCs (Electronic Product Codes):** Serialized identifiers (SGTINs) for each unit, case, or pallet being received.
- **Event Time and Time Zone:** Timestamp indicating when the receipt event occurred.
- **Read Point:** Physical location where the receipt was recorded (e.g., warehouse dock).
- **Business Location:** GLN of the facility performing the receipt.
- **Disposition:** Status of the product upon receipt (e.g., “received”, “quarantined”, “on hold”).
- **SOM Evaluation Result:** Indicates whether the shipment passed or failed SOM checks.
- **Business Transaction References:** Links to related purchase orders, ASN references, or shipment IDs.
- **Digital Signature (optional):** For ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- **Comments or Notes:** Optional fields for additional context or instructions regarding the receipt.

### Benefits of EPCIS 1.2 – SOM Receipt

- Confirms serialized product receipt with real-time EPCIS data.
- Enables automation of downstream fulfillment workflows.
- Improves operational efficiency by integrating and automating critical product information with WMS, ERP, and other business systems.

### How TraceLink Supports EPCIS 1.2 – SOM Receipt

TraceLink’s OPUS Platform, powered by B2N Integrate-Once™, enables secure and compliant receipt event reporting by:

- Integrating warehouse, serialization, and ERP systems to automate receipt and evaluation.
- Capturing EPCIS 1.2-compliant receipt data in real time.
- Transmitting updates to downstream systems and trading partners to ensure global visibility.
- Providing dashboards and audit trails for tracking product status and receipt confirmations.
- Ensuring all data is securely exchanged and fully traceable for regulatory compliance.
