### Overview

The SOM Receipt transaction is an XML-based message used to record the receipt and transfer serialized products between warehouses and trading partners. This transaction confirms that serialized units have been delivered and accepted at their destination and enables downstream verification and compliance checks.

Triggered upon physical receipt of goods, the SOM Receipt transaction ensures synchronization between inbound logistics and compliance systems. It verifies that the serialized units received match what was shipped, supporting regulatory compliance, inventory integrity, and audit readiness.

Executed with Serialized Operations Manager (SOM), the transaction follows the TL XML schema and integrates seamlessly with WMS, ERP systems, and track and trace systems.

### Key Use Cases

- Confirm the physical receipt of serialized products.
- Ensure inbound inventory matches outbound shipments.
- Maintain traceability and compliance with DSCSA and global track and trace regulations.
- Enable verification, reconciliation, and inventory updates upon receipt.
- Provide audit-ready documentation of serialized product receipt.
- Integrate with ERP, WMS, and track and trace systems for end-to-end visibility.

### Data Elements Included

A TL XML – SOM Receipt transaction includes (varies widely depending on country and products involved):

- **Serialized Products Received:** SGTINs, SSCCs, AIs, etc. of the serialized units received.
- **Receipt Timestamp:** Date and time of the transaction.
- **Receiving Location:** GLN or internal site code of the location where the goods were received.
- **Delivery Number:** Links order information to the serialized pick information.
- **Order Details:** Identifier linking the receipt to the original shipment (e.g., PO, ASN, Invoice, Sales Order Number, etc.).
- **Supply Type:** Highlight the type of supply such as Product Distribution, Donation, etc.
- **Quantity Received:** Total count of serialized units received.
- **Lot Number and Expiration Date:** Unique identifier for the lot/batch code and expiry dates of the received products.
- **Transaction Identifier (optional):** Denotes if this relates to a PO, Return or other type of product transaction.
- **From Business ID:** Identifier of the shipping party (GLN, DEA, HIN, or other identifier).

### Benefits of TL XML – SOM Receipt

- Confirms successful delivery of serialized shipments.
- Ensures inventory accuracy and compliance with global serialization mandates.
- Provides traceable, auditable proof of product receipt.
- Supports exception handling for partial deliveries, damaged goods, or mismatches.
- Automates inventory updates and reconciliation across systems.

### Business Process: TL XML – SOM Receipt

The SOM Receipt transaction may fit into the inbound logistics and compliance workflow as follows:

- A serialized shipment is created.
- The shipment is dispatched and tracked to its destination.
- Upon arrival, serialized units are scanned and verified against the shipment info.
- TL XML – SOM Receipt transaction is triggered to confirm receipt.
- The information is used by ERP, serialization systems, and other business systems to ensure their records are correct.

### How TraceLink Supports TL XML – SOM Receipt

TraceLink’s OPUS Platform, powered by B2N Integrate-Once™, enables secure and compliant receipt processing by:

- Capturing receipt events from WMS, ERP, or handheld scanning devices.
- Generating and exchanging TL XML-compliant receipt messages for serialized units.
- Synchronizing receipt data with serialization repositories and compliance systems.
- Providing dashboards and audit logs for inbound shipment verification.
- Supporting exception workflows for damaged, missing, or excess units.
