Under the final phase of the U.S. Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), pharmaceutical manufacturers and their supply chain partners have until November 27, 2023 to implement a 100% electronic and fully interoperable system for exchanging serialized product data. This means compliance data currently sent via ASNs must be exchanged in EPCIS format through new integrations with your customers and trade partners. Completing these integrations on your own is expensive and it’s unlikely that the project would be finished before the deadline.

Now for the good news: TraceLink can connect your existing L4 serialization system to the TraceLink L5 network, eliminating the need for costly and difficult-to-manage EPCIS integrations with customers and trade partners. The process is fast, easy, and you can keep your current serialization system in place. Watch the quick video above to see how it works.

TraceLink’s capability can be deployed "on top of" your existing L4 serialization system using our External Serialization Manager deployment. TraceLink provides a standard set of interfaces that have been commercially deployed with many customers. Simply stated, it is a commercially hardened deployment model that has been proven at scale. Beyond DSCSA compliance, customers on the TraceLink L5 network experience additional benefits:

  • Faster: With more than 290,000 network members, all or most of your trading partners are already pre-integrated into the TraceLink network, simplifying trade partner onboarding and authentication and ensuring seamless data exchange.
  • Better: The TraceLink network and DSCSA compliance solutions are built on a highly scalable cloud platform, enabling organizations to process data-intensive EPCIS transactions at no additional cost.
  • Lowest Total Cost Ownership: Purpose-built solutions on the network provide interoperable data exchange at the lowest integration costs.
  • Future Proof: Continuous investment in network solutions for supply network orchestration, collaboration, artificial intelligence, and multienterprise integration creates value beyond serialization and compliance.
