Cookie Policy

This cookie policy (“Cookie Policy”) applies to information collected and used by TraceLink Inc. (“TraceLink” “we” “us” or “our”) when you access our website (the “Site”). This information is collected through instruments known as cookies (and various other technologies used to set and interact with cookies on our website, including tools such as web beacons and tracking pixels). This Cookie Policy summarizes the different types of cookies we use on our Site, together with their respective purpose and provides you with the ability to manage these cookies.

You are free to set your browser or operating system settings to limit or decline cookies which are not necessary for the functioning of our Site, but by doing so, you may not be able to use certain features on our Site or take full advantage of all of our offerings.

In certain circumstances, we collect personal data about you through these cookies which may include your IP address, information about the way you use our Site, your choice of Internet browser, the type of device you're accessing our Site from and where you are in the world. Where any information we collect through cookies is your personal data, this Cookie Policy and our Privacy Policy applies to the collection and use of such personal data

What are cookies?

“Cookies” (and similar technologies) are data files that a website that you visit or e-mails that you open place on your device (computer, mobile phone, tablet etc.). These data files generally collect standard internet log information and visitor behavior information. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the website. For further information visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org.

Do third parties use cookies on our Site?

Cookies can be “first-party” or “third-party” depending on the domain that sets them.

  • First-party cookies. These cookies are set by us and information collected from these cookies is used by us in accordance with the terms of this Cookie Policy and our Privacy Policy.
  • Third-party cookies. These cookies are set by another party's website (so not ours) and information is collected and used in accordance with that party's policies.

For instance, to help us better understand how people engage with the Site, we work with third-party analytics partners such as Google Analytics. Like many services, Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to track user interactions. In our case, these cookies are used to collect information about how users use our Site. This information is used to compile reports, which disclose website trends without identifying individual visitors, and help us improve our website. For more information on Google Analytics, click here. You can also learn more about Google's privacy practices by going to https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/

How long do cookies stay on our device?

First-party and third-party cookies can be either 'session' or 'persistent' cookies depending on their duration and our websites use both persistent and session cookies.

  • Session Cookies. These cookies are temporary cookies that remain on your computer or device until you leave our Site. They allow our website to link your actions during a browser session. We may use these for a variety of purposes such as remembering what you clicked on, on the previous page visited. A session starts when a user opens a browser window and ends when the browser window is closed, following which all session cookies expire and are deleted.
  • Persistent Cookies. These cookies remain on your device for much longer or until you manually delete them (how long the cookie remains on your device will depend on the duration or “lifetime” of the specific cookie, as well as your browser settings). Persistent cookies may be used for a variety of purposes including remembering users' preferences and choices when using a site or to target advertising.

Different types of cookies used by us

The cookies used by us are: Strictly Necessary, Performance, Functionality, and Targeting.

'Strictly Necessary' cookies let you move around the Site and use essential features like secure areas, shopping baskets and online billing.  Without these cookies you would not be able to navigate between pages or use certain vital features of our Site, so we do not require your consent for their use. These cookies don't gather any information about you that could be used for marketing or remembering where you've been on the internet. For example, we use these Strictly Necessary cookies to identify you as being logged in to the Site. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but if you do so, some parts of the Site will not work.

'Performance' cookies collect information about how you use the Site, such as which pages you visit, the time spent on the Site and if you experience any errors. We use performance cookies to provide aggregated statistics on how the Site is used and help us improve the Site including by measuring any errors that occur.

Functionality' cookies are used to provide services or to remember settings to improve your visit. We use 'Functionality' cookies to remember your settings and choices and show you when you're logged in to the Site.

'Targeting' cookies are linked to services provided by third parties, such as 'Like' buttons and 'Share' buttons. The third party provides these services in return for recognizing that you have visited the Site. We also use 'Targeting' cookies to gather information that could be used to display content that we think may interest you.

Please see below for the cookies we use:

What are Web beacons and how do we use them?

Some of the Site's pages may contain electronic images called Web beacons, sometimes known as one-pixel GIFs, clear GIFs or pixel tags.Web beacons allow us to count users who have viewed the Site's pages. In promotional email messages, web beacons allow us to count how many people read them and to verify any clicks through to links within an email. We (or our marketing service providers on our behalf) use this to help us understand how an email campaign performed, what types of emails and content our recipients find interesting, and what actions our recipients took, so we can improve our email campaigns in the future and make our emails more relevant to our recipients. If you do not wish the web beacon to be downloaded onto your device, you should select to receive emails from us in plain text rather than HTML.

How can you control cookies?

You can control your use of cookies using the “Manage Cookie Settings” link below. If you don't want cookies, you can set your computer to warn you each time a cookie is sent or turn off all cookies through your browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Chrome or Firefox). Check your browser HELP menu to learn the correct way to change or update your cookies. Please see links below for instructions on how to turn off or delete cookies on popular browsers.

You also may wish to visit http://youradchoices.com or http://www.allaboutcookies.org/, which contain information about cookies and how to control them. You will also find details on how to delete cookies from your computer as well as more general information about cookies.

Please be aware that restricting cookies may impact on the functionality of the Site.
