Batch creations records allow CMOs to exchange data with their Pharmaceutical Manufacturer Partners about specific lots of product they produce for the Pharmaceutical Manufacturer. Batch creation records contain the details for a lot of product (e.g. lot number, lot status, expiration date, and production date).
Create and submit a batch creations
Perform this task to create and submit new batch creations.
- Select a [MPL Network] from the drop-down in the header.
- Select a (e.g. your entire company or a Link to a specific Partner or internal location) in the header.
- Select Partners must have the correct roles assigned by using the owner's instance of Multienterprise Information Network Tower. from the left menu.

. - Select the New button.
- Enter the batch number in the field.

Select the Save button.
The screen refreshes with the saved batch creation in the draft state.

Select the Edit button.
- In the Transaction Information section, select Submitted from the drop drown.
- In the Batch Creations Transaction Information section fill in the following fields:
This field auto populates the value entered New Batch Creations screen. field – . The unique identifier for the batch creation.- field – The unique code to identify the Plant.
- field – The product code type.
- field – The product identification code.
- field – The code used to identify the storage location.
- field – The number of units in the current batch.
- field – The alternate code for product identification.
- In the Manufacturer and Customer section, fill in the following fields under Manufacturer group:
The remaining Manufacturer fields are auto populated with the values from the company or location's master data entry. If the name of the company is not present in the Owner's master data, the company name must be entered manually.
type-ahead field – The name of the manufacturer who will produce the batch. This field pulls from the Owner's company and location master data.- field – The address of the particular location.
- field – Any additional address information.
- drop-down – The two-letter country code with country name for this location.
- field – The state or region for this location.
- field – The city for this location.
- field – The postal code for this location's main address.
- field – The company or location's phone number.
- field – The company or location's fax number
- drop-down – The identifier type used for this company or location.
- field – The value associated with the identifier type.
- In the Manufacturer and Customer section, fill in the following fields under Customer group:
The remaining Customer fields are auto populated with the values from the company or location's master data entry. If the name of the company is not present in the Owners master data, the company name must be entered manually.
type-ahead field – The name of the customer for whom the batch is created. This field pulls from the Owner's company and location master data.- field – The address of the particular location.

- In the Batch Details section fill in the following fields:
- field – The product manufacturing date.
- field – The product's expiration date.
- date field – The date from which the product is available for sale.
- drop-down – The status of the batch.
- field – The date for the next batch inspection.
- field – The vendor who supplied the raw material for producing the batch.
- field – The batch number of the raw material received from the vendor.
- field – The date of the last goods receipt from the vendor.
- In the Country and Lot Details section, fill in the following fields under Lot Characteristics:
- field – The name of the characteristic of the batch.
- field – The value of characteristic of the batch.
- In the Country of Origin section, fill in the following fields:
- field – The state or region for this location.
- drop-down – The two-letter country code for this location.
- In the Country and Lot Details section, fill in the following fields under Lot Attributes:
- field – The code of the plant where the batch undergoes testing.
- field – The group number where quality assurance approved the batch.
- field – The name of the laboratory where the batch is tested.
- field – A brief description of the laboratory.
- field – The email address of the laboratory.
- In the Reference Transaction Information section:
- Select the Addicon. At least one reference transaction line item is required to submit a batch creation.
- In the Add Transaction Reference panel, fill in the following fields under Reference Transaction Information:
- field – The type of transaction.
- field – The number of the transaction or any unique identifier.
- field - The transaction date.
- field - The line item of the specified transaction that references the batch.
- Select
The new reference transaction line item is added to the transaction reference table.

- In the Batch Dates section, fill in the following fields:
- field – The date when the batch is created in the system.
- field – The date by which the product is at its peak usability.
- field – The date scheduled for retesting the product.
- field – The date when the product was stored.
- field – The date when the inspection was conducted.
- field – The date by which the product can be used without any restrictions.
- field – The ID of the person who created the batch.
- field – The date and time when the batch is created in the system.
- In the Notes section, enter any additional comments or instructions.
- To submit the batch creation:To save the batch creation in a Draft state and finish it later, ensure the button is not selected and then select the Save button in the draft state.
Select the
button at the top of the screen.The submit status indicator circle is filled in with green to indicate the desired action upon selecting save.
Select the Save button.
The batch creation is submitted.
Tips
- In the Reference Transaction Information section, do one of the following:
- Select the Edit icon, to edit the details of an individual line item.
- Select the Deleteicon to delete references to multiple transactions.
- In the Notes section, do one of the following:
- Select the Addicon, to add comments or instructions.
- Select the Deleteicon, to remove comments or instructions.
Submit a batch creation in the draft state to a customer.
- Select a [MPL Network] from the drop-down in the header.
- Select a (e.g. your entire company or a Link to a specific Partner or internal location) in the header.
- Select Partners must have the correct roles assigned by using the owner's instance of Multienterprise Information Network Tower. from the left menu.

. - Select the Filter button to find the batch creation in Draft state..

Select the
link in the results table. -
Select the Edit button.
- In the Transaction Information section, select Submitted from the drop drown.

The batch creation is submitted.
Tips
- To edit the details of an individual line items in the reference transaction section of the batch creation, select the Edit icon for the line item in the Reference Transaction section.
- To delete a batch creation in the draft state, select the batch number row and then select the Deleteicon on the top of the screen.
A deleted transaction cannot be retrieved.
Search and view batch creations
Search for and view batch creations sent or received by suppliers. Viewing the details of a batch creations enables suppliers to quickly access order information (e.g. the quantity for each line item in an order) in TraceLink without having to search through the actual B2B message.
- Select a [MPL Network] from the drop-down in the header.
- Select a (e.g. your entire company or a Link to a specific Partner or internal location) in the header.
- Select Partners must have the correct roles assigned by using the owner's instance of Multienterprise Information Network Tower. or from the left menu.
- Select .
- Select the Filter button.
- Fill in one or more of the following fields to filter the results:
batch creation:
drop-down – The state of the- Draft – The transaction is in the draft state.
- Submit – The transaction has been created.
- Processing – The application is getting ready to handle incoming transactions by doing some initial tasks, such as copying the files it receives.
- Processed – The application changes the standard information into a format that is easy to use and specific to your transaction.
- Preparing to Send – The application is getting ready to send out a transaction and is doing some initial tasks, like copying the necessary information for the process.
- Sending –The application sends out business transactions to the buyer or supplier.
- Sent – The transaction is successfully completed and shared with the receiving party.
If the name of the customer is not present in the Owners master data then the customer's name must be entered manually type-ahead – The name of the customer the batch creation was sent to.- batch creation was last updated:
- Today – The transaction was modified within the last few hours.
- Yesterday – The transaction was updated within the past 24 hours.
- Last Week – The transaction was modified in the last 7 days.
- Last Month – The transaction was modified in the last 30 days.
- Last 3 Months – The transaction was modified in the last 90 days.
- Last 6 Months – The transaction was modified in the last 180 days.
- Custom Range – Select a specific period of time that the transaction was modified in from the calendar.

Tips
- To view the details of an individual line item in the invoice, select the Viewicon for the line item in the Reference Transaction Information section on the Batch Creation Details screen.
- To clear the filter criteria in the filter, select .
Resubmit batch creations
Perform this task if the user needs to resend a batch creation transaction.
- Select a [MPL Network] from the drop-down in the header.
- Select a (e.g. your entire company or a Link to a specific Partner or internal location) in the header.
- Select Partners must have the correct roles assigned by using the owner's instance of Multienterprise Information Network Tower. from the left menu.

. - Select the Sent state. in

Select the Edit button.
The state of the batch creation transaction is automatically moved to Sending state. -
Select the
button at the top of the screen.The submit status indicator circle is filled in with green to indicate the desired action upon selecting save.

Select the Save button.
The batch creation is submitted.
The statues of the batch creation moves to Sent state.
